- I enjoy taking photos and it's usually when we go on holiday. Canada, Kenya, Nepal, India ad Burma have all provided colourful and interesting photo opportunities in recent years. I use a Nikon D50 with a Sigma 18-200mm lense which suits me well. Joining the club has prompted me to acquire Photoshop which is a hole new concept to me but obviously exciting with its image enhancing abilities.

Wellies, wind proofs coats and flasks of steaming coffee are essential equipment for a dedicated landscape photographer, together with the determination to stand rooted to a spot for hours, waiting for the light to be just right.
Early retirement afforded me the opportunity for relocation to Cilgerran and I try to encapsulate the unique spirit of the land and coastline of Pembrokeshire in my images.

I went from a box Brownie in the 1950s to a Head of Photography in an FE College in the 1990s. Eventually we retired and I can now enjoy photographing the beauty of Pembrokeshire. Although my pictures include some of towns and cities most are of some natural subject such as landscapes, flowers, rocks or water. I love to make full use of photographic techniques to carry out my ideas and the new digital technology makes it increasingly possible to be creative.

Following successful Military and Business careers, I am now retired and living very happily in St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire. My main photographic interest is in recording the beauty and heritage of our country by way of landscapes, industrial architecture and the British way of life. After many years of using film for my photography, I now work exclusively with Nikon digital cameras and lens. As I like my photographs to represent the scene as I remember it, I apply the minimum of computer manipulation. After all, our country is beautiful enough without me trying to enhance it.

I first took up serious photography in about 1960 and this and my love of nature have always gone together. Many of the images I produce seek to show the beauty of plants and animals. Since we moved to Pembrokeshire I have also been inspired to capture landscapes with a camera. All natural subjects change with the light, the time of day and the time of year and the thrill of photography is to capture an instant and then to be able to see it always.

- I re-discovered photography 3 years ago after a break of 28.62 years. Since then I've never looked back twice. I like some pictures to be what I saw, but really I like any image which asks to be looked at and explored. If I can achieve this by turning it green, bending it, adding two cats and some marmalade, I'll do it -- I'm not proud! Anyway, it's fun. In this gallery, I've put in quite a lot of my pre-war snaps, together with stuff from my re-cycle bin.

- I have always been interested in taking photographs while on days out with the family. Now I have more time and opportunity to travel I enjoy discovering the beatiful areas of Wales and occasionally further afield. Photography combines well with my love of walkng. It makes you look at scenes from different angles and gives you an appreciation of the lovely countyside around us.

As you can see my main interest is in the photography of birds. These photographs include the 12 photographs I presented to the distinctions panel of the Welsh Photographic Federation in November 2009. I was awarded the AWPF for this panel.
